OUR HISTORY
The company PachaMama Canada is the continuation of a project of international cooperation led by the volunteer Michel Marceau and the CECI (Centre d’études et de Coopération Internationale, NGO). From 2003 to 2005, the project supported the Peruvian Aymara indigenous community in its effort towards economic, cultural and social development.
In 2004, Maude Fodor, a friend of Michel Marceau, decided to join forces with the cooperative to ensure the continuation of the project and expand the field of action to Quebec. Thus, for over 12 years, we have been working to commercialize the traditional handicrafts made by our partners.
This project began with international cooperation and today is a good example of the pursuit and success of a shared North-South dream of putting a human face on international trade!
